This is one of my personal favorites. In 2003, I tried to learn my lesson from the failure of "The Leading Men" by following the old adage "write what you know." So I took settings and characters loosely based on those around me. The city of Freepoint, Michigan is actually a combination of several Michigan cities. The Herbert Chemical plant is based on the real plant I grew up around; the name coming from the name of that real-life company's founder. So I definitely had some fun twisting reality around to suit my purposes.
The story is about young Floyd Jensen, who suffers from a rare genetic defect that has delayed puberty until his college years. Because of this Floyd is a bit of a recluse, until a chance encounter with a beautiful stranger begins four seasons of growth, death, and renewal.
Please enjoy "The Changing Seasons..."
BTW, on a side note, never use Roman numerals for chapters, at least not until the manuscript is finished. It's a real bitch to go through and edit all those if you decide to insert or delete a chapter.
